My name is Shannon and I am the owner and lead photographer behind All Things Joy Photography! I start my days with a home-brewed cup of coffee or vanilla latte, breakfast with my husband (Mark), hugs and kisses from my little ones Alana (3y/o) and Luca (1y/o) and some cuddle time with my dog (Toby). I'm currently pregnant and expecting Baby #3 in November to complete our growing family!

Mark is my husband, business partner, second shooter, gear guy, and tech support. He does all the things behind the scenes! Our mission for the business is rooted in having kindred spirits, embracing love through rough waters, and creating a team-like lifestyle to fulfill our desires of exploring the world together while doing what we love - spending time with amazing people! We believe in building relationships based on trust and compatibility from the very start, ensuring you're in good hands with our relaxed approach.

ATJP's style is light, joyful, and ethereal and we specialize in stylish, captivating, and modern couples and family lifestyle portraits around the world. This timeless look is inspired by our visual philosophy paired with your personality, your story, and your style. let's connect

It was January 2011 in Upstate NY when we met for the very first time! We were both participating at a winter retreat hosted by Word of Life Bible Institute that year. I (Shannon) chaperoned my church youth group for the weekend and Mark (my now husband) was a student and Praise and Worship Band member. He caught my attention when he was on stage playing the guitar. The next day, I caught Mark's attention when I was hitting 3-point shots on the basketball court. We crossed paths after the camp basketball tournament and got to small-talking. Coincidentally, we knew mutual people and found out we were both from NJ! The next day Mark sent me a friend request on Facebook, I gave him my number via Messenger and I had butterflies for days on end!

My whole family had brunch plans on a Saturday morning in September. We got to the restaurant before it opened (this was definitely planned), so it was decided that'd we'd go to a local park for a quick family photoshoot. We pulled up to the parking lot of Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ when my sister revealed "we're not actually here for a photoshoot!" I was taken on a journey through the gardens, listening to a playlist Mark thoughtfully put together to match every song to every spot I was taken too. He laid out gifts and hand-written notes for me every step of the way and had me in tears! My sister and my friend walked alongside me to capture every moment of it through photo and video! It was nothing short of perfection and truly any female's dream come true!

I said 'yes'!

Growing up, I didn't ever envision what my dream wedding would look like, I only knew that I wanted it to be in Hawaii! Our priorities during wedding planning (yes, we planned our entire destination wedding) was to create a unique experience for our guests by surrounding them with breath-taking views of the peaceful tropical island, serving them decadent food and dancing all night long! You better believe that we came through with steak & lobster tails included! This might catch you by surprise, but Mark was the one who found and booked our venue and photo/video team! We truly appreciate intimate gatherings & we made sure to be fully present to enjoy every single minute of the best day of our lives!

"Some day we'll wake up with thousands of pictures..." I absolutely love ballads! The lyrics moved me in an astounding way and so we decided on "From the Ground Up" by Dan + Shay to be the song for our first dance. Mark is the dancer and I am not, so we prepared a simple choreographed dance to show a little bit of our romantic side to our guests! Our wedding videographers were so kind as to gifting us a separate video of our first dance!! I decided to post it on YouTube and overtime, the views increased, comments increased, and to this day there are about 102k+ views on it! Our greatest hope is to continue building our love story from the ground up!
